Ana Margarida Matos is an independent comic artist based in Almada, Portugal.

Having studied Graphic Design and Painting - Fine Arts, she discovered that comics were the perfect medium for her work, a space where text and images can be found side-by-side creating a new language capable of translating anything.

Her visual essays are often published by Chili Com Carne in Portuguese and by Kûs!, Stripburger and FieldMousePress in English, or self-published in both languages. She also created and organises Feira Autónoma, a fair for independent publishing open to all types of practices and ways to think and create a physical publication on a small to medium scale.
